Our Vision
The Saint Francis Music Society, guided by the St Francis High School philosophy, provides the resources needed to enable Saint Francis High School to offer an outstanding music education to all students in its music program.
Our Mission
To support the Saint Francis music program and its students by providing:

Financial and physical support, including the purchase of necessary equipment and supplies, to carry out the core activities of the Saint Francis High School music program (teaching, learning, practising and performing);

Monetary assistance to deserving students in financial need (as determined by the school administration) to help with additional costs not covered by the Society to enable them to participate in voluntary activities.

Instructors
Brigida Battistessa - Music Director
B.Ed, B.Mus, Dip. Fa, M.Ed
Brigida Battistessa received her formal music training at the University of Calgary. She has served as a member of the Alberta Band Association's Board of Directors, The International Society for Music Education, and the World Association of Symphonic Bands and Ensembles. She is currently the VP of the Calgary Fire Department's Cappy Smart Concert Band. An active flautist, Ms. Battistessa has performed with the Cappy Smart Band in Spain, Cuba, NYC, and more. She has been administering the Saint Francis Music Program since 1999.
Brandon Oberhamer - Jazz Clinician
B.Mus.
Brandon Oberhamer has a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Calgary with a specialization in jazz performance. He has been performing and teaching for over 15 years in Calgary, but his music career has taken him all over the world, including England, Norway, and Russia. He performs in everything from Jazz duos to the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and is passionate about sharing music with concert goers and students alike.
